Speakers

Dr. Adam Chernick completed his Bachelor of Health Sciences in Biomedical Sciences and his PhD in Veterinary Medical Sciences at the University of Calgary, Canada. His doctoral research focused on the evolution of ssRNA viruses infecting cattle and relied heavily on basic molecular biology techniques as well as sophisticated methods, including next generation sequencing and phylogenetic analysis. Today, he works as a senior commercial product manager overseeing Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) global CRISPR and functional genomics portfolio.

Ashley Jacobi currently leads the Genomic Medicine & CRISPR Application Development team at IDT. She received her Molecular Genetics & Biochemistry degree from Cornell University in 2006. Ashley has spent the last 18 years holding several roles in Research & Product Development teams at IDT. She has conducted research in RNAi and antisense oligo technologies, and more recently has focused on studying CRISPR gene editing, including high-throughput screening of CRISPR-Cas guide RNAs, optimizing the composition and delivery of synthetic RNA reagents complexed to recombinant CRISPR nucleases, and developing analysis solutions to understand the genetic outcomes following CRISPR gene editing.

Garrett Rettig, PhD, is the senior director of applied science for therapeutic oligos at IDT. His team focuses on deploying various CRISPR technologies—spanning editing to detection in an end-to-end workflow—to support customers in the preclinical and IND-enabling space through early-phase clinical trials.
