On January 23, 2020 collaborators from Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin Institute of Virology, German Centre for Infection Research, Tib-Molbiol, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, and many other entities designed an assay and published a RT-PCR protocol for the detection of 2019-nCoV (now known as SARS-CoV-2) [1]. "The Berlin Panel” detects the RdRp and E genes to positively identify SARS-CoV-2. IDT provides primers and probes for this assay for the detection of the virus. Primers and probes are manufactured at IDT under ISO 13485:2016. The kits include primers and 5’ FAM - ZEN™/Iowa Black® FQ probes.
