Is there a difference between the streptavidin binding affinity of 3’ and 5' biotin modifications?
Our 3' and 5' biotin modifications have the same functional biotin molecule and bind streptavidin with equal affinity. A 3' biotin modification will block extension, so 5' biotin should be selected if your oligo will be used in an extension reaction.
